Day 3: Face to Face with the Gorillas
The day starts early with a warm cup of coffee to shake off the morning chill, followed by a mandatory briefing at the park headquarters. Rangers will walk you through what to expect before your group heads into the forest, packed lunches in hand, to track down one of the park’s mountain gorilla families. Once you locate them, you’ll be granted a full hour in their company — a rare and humbling window into their social world, filled with opportunities for photographs and quiet observation.
Because the terrain can be steep and unpredictable, a reasonable level of physical fitness is recommended.
